Pondok Mabroom took the opposite road: pouring all of our warehouse space, quality control, and curiosity into a single fruit — the Mabroom date from Madinah. Choosing to specialize is not a limitation but a promise. When a house tends only one variety, it comes to know that variety far more deeply than any general store can.

Mabroom is often called the elegant date, and the nickname fits. The fruit is long and slender with a tapered tip, its dark mahogany skin finely wrinkled as if twisted by hand, its flesh dense and chewy with a calm caramel sweetness — never a sugar punch. We fell for that character, and we want customers to meet it not through a premium sticker but through specifications they can verify themselves the moment a pack arrives.

A Sweetness That Sides with the Heart

There is one reason we feel Mabroom deserves to be treated as a craft. The fruit carries abundant potassium yet almost no sodium — by USDA baselines, roughly 650-700 mg of potassium against just 1-2 mg of sodium per 100 grams. For Indonesian households managing their blood pressure, it is a sweet snack far friendlier than packaged treats. We write its nutrition grounded in references, honest about what research has not yet tested for this variety in particular — no lofty promises.
